It wasn't quite that bad. I didn't steal from the bank or try to take members with me or anything, and also my problem was mainly with the alliance, not the clan. I was really just disgusted with what CotC had become. I'd say the leaving was maybe semi-graceful. I said goodbye in clan chat and had a fairly cordial chat with Glutt a bit afterwards, though he was clearly reeling after the highly unexpected blow I dealt him and his alliance.

Many clans did start leaving within a few days of my whole speech, and though the alliance was definitely doomed to fall apart pretty shortly with or without my leaving, my post probably sped it up just a bit. The message was valid for quite a lot of people either way.

Believe it or not, most of Awful Company, maybe all of it at this point, pretty much started leaving en masse a few months after I left, mainly to Sinister and then quite a few left and joined Varangian Guard (kind of funny considering the huge Hordes of Goonheim-Varangian Guard enmity in Age of Conan, but that can be said for becoming friends with VG within the first few days of the game and eventually allying them and taking them in in the first place). I believe there's actually a fairly successful but rather small and self-contained goon guild on NA-1, named Goon Squad, which I think is led or otherwise co-led by Slutcannon (Slot Cannun in game I believe), who was one of the few good, intelligent, reasonable officers in the original AC. I hear the guild is going quite well under his leadership, and they're staying far away from alliances.

Anyway, to the person who's interested in what I did and where I went after CotC: Winterblades took me in and I played with them for like 3 weeks, then I just got bored of Darkfall in general, quit for a while, resubbed for a bit on NA-1, joined Icon to ~spy~ for Shadow Pact Alliance (which consisted of all the SBA guilds who moved to NA-1), gave some intel on them, then got bored and quit again. And here I am. I mostly play EVE nowadays, actually.

Well I guess I deserved that, but I think there is a difference between agreeing with what someone did and stupidly giving someone I thought was a member bank access, which didn't really prove anything, because Wessex's bank got jacked many times.
